An ARM Cortex-M4 based digital signal controller with a high level of integration and low power dissipation is the LPC4078FBD100E. Next-generation cores like the ARM Cortex-M4 provide system improvements like low power consumption, improved debug tools, and a high level of support block integration. The Harvard design, 3-stage pipeline, separate local instruction and data buses, third bus for peripherals, and internal prefetch unit with capability for speculative branching are all features of the ARM Cortex-M4 CPU. Single-cycle digital signal processing and SIMD instructions are supported by the ARM Cortex-M4 processor. For a few iterations of the part, a hardware floating-point processor is built inside the core.
Sleep, Deep Sleep, Power-Down, and Deep Power-Down are the four power-saving modes.
When a priority interrupt occurs while the clocks are stopped in the Deep-sleep, Power-down, or Deep power-down modes, the Wake-up Interrupt Controller (WIC) enables the CPU to instantly wake up.
Any interrupt capable of operating in Power-down mode, including external interrupts, RTC interrupts, and PORT0/2, can be used to wake up the processor.
